Abstract

This site of study were selected purposively at one of home industry at Kupang City. Data were collected by interviewing with the manager and employees, in March 2018. Data collected were analyzed descriptively, such as break event point (BEP), R/C Ratio and Hayami Method for added value analysis. The results show that the company earned profit and also added value from corn processing. This was indicated by the results of R / C ratio analysis of 1.60 for corn chips, 1.48 for marning corn, and 1.50 for dried-shrimp flavor corn. BEP  of the three corn processing ocurred at 262 kg of corn chips, 322 kg of marning corn, 800 kg of dried-shrimp flavor corn, while BEP price of Rp 23.170/kg of corn chips, Rp 18.809/kg of marning corn, Rp 17.330/kg of dried-shrimp flavor corn. The added-values of the output value for every Rp 100 from each product were Rp 53 for cornmeal, Rp 45 for marning corn, and Rp 39 for maize of shrimp flavor. Based on the added value analysis, home industry should maintain and increase the production for corn chips and dried-shrimp flavor corn which can be providing added value and benefit.

Penelitian ini merupakan studi kasus yang bersifat deskriptif kuantitatif dengan unit analisis usaha pada salah satu industri rumah tangga di Kota Kupang. Penelitian dilakukan pada Bulan Maret 2018. Analisis data dilakukan dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif, analisis break event point, analisis R/C rasio, analisis nilai tambah metode hayami.Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa kegiatan usaha pengolahan jagung menghasilkan keuntungan dan memberikan nilai tambah. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan hasil analisis R/C ratio sebesar 1,60 emping jagung, 1,48 marning jagung, 1,50 jagung rasa udang. BEP pada ketiga olahan jagung yaitu BEP produksi 262 kg emping jagung, 322 kg  marning jagung, 800 kg jagung rasa udang, sedangkan BEP harga yaitu sebesar Rp 23.170/kg emping jagung, Rp 18.809/kg marning jagung, Rp 17.330/kg jagung rasa udang. Besar nilai tambah dari nilai output untuk setiap Rp 100 dari masing-masing produk sebesar Rp 53 emping jagung,  Rp 45 marning jagung, dan Rp 39 jagung rasa udang. Berdasarkan analisis nilai tambah, maka sebaiknya industri rumah tangga mempertahankan dan meningkatkan produksi untuk produk emping jagung dan jagung rasa udang selain memberikan nilai tambah, kedua produk tersebut memberikan keuntungan lebih besar dibandingkan produk marning jagung
