Disaster including strong winds and tornado is in level 50% as an extreme weather is happen in Kupang City. The area which is affected by tornado is about 67.37% for this disasters occurrence taking place every year. This phenomenon is needed to be watched out by all stakeholders and the local people in order to overcome the disasters earlier. The purposes of this research are; (1) Knowing the disaster’s point and the spreading of wind disasters in Kupang throughout historical mapping of wind disaster method whereby its locations of the disaster in 2012-2014 juxtaposed with its wind disaster progress in 2017-2019; (2) Knowing the causative damage factor to the roof of building through observation and location of information disaster and its sample by taking photo after the disaster as data taken. By knowing the damage of buildings construction and the use of materials by using Fujita Method and vulnerability variables on the roof of the building; and (3) Developing a wind-friendly house principle which is designed by looking at factors causing the roof of the building damage. The results of this study are shown as a form of the spreading and damaging point of tornado disaster in 2012-2019 in Kupang. The use of zinc roofing material by wooden construction is very high disaster vulnerability as well as an extension construction between building indicators of roof to building easels. The principles of wind-friendly home design in Kupang consist of identifying existing conditions, structure of the building includes splaying roof and the construction of connection system, building development and the building maintenance.
