In the education sector, the impact is that learning does not take place directly because teachers and students do not meet face-to-face in class. The research aims to identify and describe a special curriculum based on teacher working groups in elementary schools in West Sumba. Type of qualitative research. Data collection methods are observation, interviews, and documentation. Data analysis uses descriptive data, namely: reducing data, analyzing data, and drawing conclusions. The research results show that the implementation of a special curriculum based on teacher working groups in six elementary schools in West Sumba refers to simplified basic and core competencies. Teachers create learning tools guided by a special curriculum, learning is carried out online and offline, and create gathering points. The training system is based on class level, where each class teacher from each school gathers to carry out activities based on the class level they teach. Supporting factors are adequate facilities and infrastructure while inhibiting factors are that not all teachers have electronic devices, unstable internet networks, and limited access to technology.

Keywords: Special Curriculum and Teacher Working Group
Yakobus Umbu Dagha ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/AJES/article/view/14449 Thu, 27 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 THE IMPACT OF PRINCIPAL LEADERSHIP ON STUDENT ACHIEVEMENT https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/AJES/article/view/17147
The quality of student learning outcomes is a barometer of the success of an educational institution. This quality is closely related to teacher performance and the principal's leadership style, known as management strategy. This paper is a research report on the relationship between principal competence, teacher performance and student learning outcomes in primary schools in Cluster XVIII, Kupang City. Using the methods of observation, interview and documentation study, which are part of the qualitative research steps, the relationship between principal's management competence and student learning outcomes is revealed. The results of data analysis indicate that there is a strong relationship between principals' competence in managing the educational institutions they lead and their students' learning outcomes. For this reason, it is recommended that every principal, as a leader, must have managerial competence that includes 2 dimensions, namely managerial competence dimensions and supervisory competence dimensions, so that student learning outcomes can be achieved.
Fredrik Hendrik Thome ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/AJES/article/view/17147 Thu, 27 Jun 2024 15:36:31 +0000 TEACHING AIDS AND PLAYING TOOLS AS LEARNING MEDIA FOR KINDERGARTEN AND PRE-SCHOOL STUDENTS https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/AJES/article/view/17153
Teaching aids and playground equipment are important for PAUD and TK students. The research aims to serve as a reflection for promoting positive changes in students' development in the future. The study adopted a qualitative and descriptive quantitative approach and was carried out from September to December 2023. The application of Christian morality was assessed based on the fruits of the spirit outlined in Galatians 5:22-23, including love for others, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, loyalty, trustworthiness, honesty, reliability, and gentleness. The research showed that the overall score for the application of Christian morality was 3.8 out of 5. To enhance the application of Christian morals, STIPAS has implemented various measures such as socializing academic and student guidelines, changing teaching methods, involving more students in activities, providing routine assistance from student affairs, and enforcing sanctions. These findings stress the importance of STIPAS students, particularly those aiming to become Catholic Religion teachers, adopting Christian morals in their lives.
Valentinus Kopong Masan ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/AJES/article/view/17230 Mon, 01 Jul 2024 00:00:00 +0000 On LIBERATING EDUCATION AND THE CREATION OF GOLDEN INDONESIA BY 2045 https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/AJES/article/view/16965
This article focusses on education. Here, the writers argue that liberating education, widely known as “Program Merdeka Belajar” in Indonesia, be used consistently as a means to successfully create golden Indonesia by 2045. To make its implementation more effective, however, the following ideas be seriously taken into account. First, it is necessary to implement an educational system, from primary to tertiary institutions, based on each single student’s talents, interests, and learning needs. Second, in relation to the first, it is urgent that Indonesian Government stops creating a national curriculum to be nationally applied throughout Indonesia; the Government instead allows each educational institute in this country to have its own “Merdeka Belajar Curriculum,” that is, a school curriculum based on each single student’s talents/potentials, interests, and learning needs. It is, therefore, suggested that a curriculum for each educational institution may no longer be created by Jakarta/Nusantara. Third, to implement “Program Merdeka Belajar” successfully, having great teachers who teach based on their students’ talents, interests, and learning needs is necessary. To achieve this, we suggest, among other things, that the teachers be freely allowed to have further education and/or proper training and that their salary be increased significantly. This, in turn, will lead to the successful creation of Golden Indonesia in 2045 and beyond.
editor ajes; Felix Tans ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/AJES/article/view/16965 Thu, 27 Jun 2024 00:00:00 +0000 AN ANALYSIS OF A TEACHER’S STRATEGIES IN TEACHING ENGLISH READING TO GRADE EIGHT STUDENTS OF SMPN 10 KUPANG IN THE ACADEMIC YEAR 2022/2023 https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/AJES/article/view/17168
ABSTRACT: The title of this research is An Analysis of a Teacher’s Strategies in Teaching English Reading to Grade Eight Students of SMPN 10 Kupang in the Academic Year 2022/2023. The problems of this study are: (1) What are a teacher’s strategies in teaching English reading to the grade 8 students of SMPN 10 Kupang?
