PARTISIPASI PETANI DALAM PROGRAM PENINGKATAN PRODUKSI JAG- UNG PADA ZONA IIIay KABUPATEN KUPANG

Abstrak

This study aims to determine the level of farmer participation in the program of increasing the production of corn and know how the influence of socio-economic factors on the level of farmer participation in corn production improvement program in Zone IIIay District Kupang. The research method used is survey method. The determination of the sub-district sample was deter- mined by simple random sampling, and selected 2 Sub-districts namely Nekamese Sub-district and West Amarasi Sub-district. The sample villages were determined by simple random sampling and selected 2 villages from each sub-district of Niukbaun Village and Nekbaun Village (West Amarasi Sub-district) and Oemasi Village and Bone Village (Nekamese sub-district). Samples taken in this study amounted to 45 people. The results showed that: 1) Farmers participation rate in the program of increasing corn production in zone IIIay is in High category with percentage of 71,70%. 2) socioeconomic factors that have real effect on farmer participation rate in the program of increas- ing the production of maize are the factors of experience of farming, while the age factor, formal education, non-formal education and the number of family dependents have no significant effect to the farmer participation level in the program of increasing corn production in zone IIIayKupang District.
