Abstract

Traditional markets are places where sellers and buyers meet. The times have made traditional markets become less competitive. One of the traditional markets in the city of Kupang, namely Kasih traditional Market . To make Kasih’s traditional market is not to be less competitive, it is necessary to develop it Kasih’s traditional market. This study aims to: (1) Know the internal factors and external factors that influence the existence of traditional markets Kasih. (2) Knowing alternative strategies for developing Traditional Markets. (3) Knowing Priorities in the development of Kasih traditional markets. The location of the study was determined by purposive sampling. Determination of respondents was determined by purposive sampling as many as 35 people. Analysis of the data used is the SWOT Analysis and AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). Research results show that internal factors and external factors that influence Kasih’s traditional markets, namely internal factors consist of strengths, namely strategic location, familiarity between the seller and buyer, commodity variation, bargaining culture, and hospitality of market employees, and weaknesses, from facilities and infrastructure. cleanliness and safety, and the quality of products sold. Meanwhile, external factors consist of opportunities is shopping habits with bargaining systems, population growth, community livelihoods, and lifestyle changes, and threats faced by the Kasih’s market, namely the emergence of modern markets, the presence of competitors, and the stability of modern market prices. The alternative market strategy for the development of Kasih is to improve facilities and maintain a bargaining system, increase promotion using technology, improve cooperation between managers and traders, and provide information to traders. Priority in the Kasih’s traditional market development strategy is to improve facilities and maintain a bargaining system.

 

Pasar tradisional merupakan tempat bertemunya penjual dan pembeli. Perkembangan zaman membuat pasar tradisional menjadi kalah bersaing. Salah satu pasar tradisional di kota Kupang yaitu Pasar Tradisional Kasih. Untuk membuat pasar tradisional Kasih tidak kalah bersaing, perlu adanya melakukan pengembangan terhadap pasar tradisional Kasih. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk: (1) Mengetahui faktor internal dan faktor eksternal yang berpengaruh terhadap keberadaan Pasar Tradisional Kasih. (2) Mengetahui alternatif strategi pengembangan Pasar Tradisional. (3) Mengetahui Prioritas dalam pengembangan Pasar Tradisional Kasih. Lokasi penelitian ditentukan secara purposive sampling. Penentuan responden ditentukan secara purposive sampling yaitu sebanyak 35 orang. Analisis data yang digunakan yaitu Analisis SWOT dan AHP (Analytic Hierarchy Process). Hasil Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa Faktor internal dan factor external  yang berpengaruh pada passer tradisional Kasih yaitu faktor internal terdiri dari kekuatan yaitu lokasi strategis, keakraban penjual dan pembeli, variasi komoditi, budaya tawar menawar, dan keramahan pegawai pasar, dan kelemahan yaitu dari sarana dan prasarana, kebersihan dan keamanan, dan kualitas produk yang dijual. Sedangkan, Faktor eksternal terdiri dari peluang yaitu  kebiasaan berbelanja dengan sistem tawar menawar, pertumbuhan jumlah penduduk , mata pencaharian masyarakat, dan perubahan gaya hidup, dan ancaman yang dihadapi pasar kasih yaitu munculnya pasar modern, adanya pesaing, dan kestabilan harga pasar modern. Alternatif strategi pengembangan pasar Kasih yaitu meningkatkan fasilitas dan mempertahankan sistem tawar menawar, meningkatkan promosi menggunakan teknologi, meningkatkan kerja sama antara pengelola dan pedagang, dan memberikan sosialisasi kepada pedagang. Prioritas dalam strategi pengembangan pasar tradisional Kasih yaitu meningkatkan fasilitas dan mempertahankan sistem tawar menawar.
