Storage of pig semen at cold temperatures can reduce the motility and viability of spermatozoa. The aim of this study was to maintain the quality of pig semen by adding coconut water and native chicken egg yolk diluent with the addition of glucose and stored at a temperature preservation. Boar semen was collected from sexually mature adult boar aged 2 years, the collection was carried out by the massage method. Semen that has been accommodated, is evaluated macroscopically and microscopically to see the quality of the cement, before dilution is carried out. This study was designed with a completely randomized design and factorial pattern with 2 control groups, 4 treatment groups, and 4 replications. The control group consisted of fresh semen without diluent. K0 The treatment groups were P1 (80CW + 20% NCEY + 20 L glucose), P2 (80% CW + 20% NCEY + 40 L glucose), P3 (80% CW + 20% NCEY + 60 L glucose) and P4 (80 % CW + 20% NCEY + 90 L glucose), which was preserved by the water jacket method. Spermatozoa motility and viability were evaluated every 2 hours until the motility value reached 40%. One of the bacteria that is resistant to several types of antibiotics is Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA). Honey is known for its nutritional and antibacterial properties. The antibacterial activity of honey is due to several factors such as its physicochemical properties, H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>, and phytochemicals compounds. Honey could be a promising alternative to overcome the problem of antibiotic resistance. The aim of this research was to determine the physicochemical, H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>, Pinocembrin, Kaempferol and antimicrobial activity of Timor Forest honey. A total of 7 Timor Forest honey was analyzed to determine water content, water activity, pH, H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>, Pinocembrin, Kaempferol and antibacterial activity. Moisture content, water activity, and pH were measured using a refractometer, aw-meter, and pH meter, respectively. Hydrogen peroxide content was measured using peroxide strip test. Pinocembrin and Kaempferol contents were measured using HPLC-DAD. The analysis showed that the water content, water activity and pH of Timor Forest honey were 17.52±3.31%, 0.6±0.01, 4.18±0.32, respectively. The content of H<sub>2</sub>O<sub>2</sub>, Pinocembrin, and Kaempferol were 109.1±47.1 µmol/L, 2.2±1.9 mg/100 g, 1.7±0.7 mg/100 g, respectively. The antibacterial activity of Timor Forest honey against MRSA was tested using Kirby-Bauer disc diffusion method. Vancomycin was used as positive control. The inhibition zone of Timor Forest honey and vancomycin was not significantly different with an average of 13.93±0.23 mm for Timor Forest honey and 14.33±0.05 mm for vancomycin. Penelitian ini mengnalisis korelasi dan regresi antara bobot badan (BB), lingkar skrotum (LS), dan volume semen (VS) pada sepuluh ekor Domba Ekor Tipis jantan (Ovis aries) berumur 8–18 bulan di Teaching Farm, Jurusan Peternakan, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Lampung. Metode purposive sampling digunakan untuk memilih hewan percobaan. Pengukuran BB (kg) dilakukan sebelum pemberian pakan pagi, LS (cm) diperoleh dari rerata dua kali pengukuran, dan koleksi VS (ml) menggunakan vagina buatan. Setiap parameter diukur sebanyak tiga kali dengan selang waktu empat hari, menghasilkan total 30 data (n=30). Data dianalisis menggunakan perangkat lunak R dengan uji korelasi Pearson untuk menentukan kekuatan dan arah hubungan antarvariabel, serta regresi linear untuk memodelkan hubungan prediktif antara: (1) BB dan LS, (2) BB dan VS, dan (3) LS dan VS. Hasil penelitian menyajikan korelasi positif kuat antara BB dan LS (r = 0,623; Y = 17,689 + 0,242X), korelasi positif sedang antara BB dan VS (r = 0,505; Y = -0,153 + 0,056X), serta korelasi positif sedang antara LS dan VS (r = 0,406; Y = 21,010 + 1,428X). This study aimed to identify the diversity, abundance, and potential risk of diseases that can be transmitted by ectoparasites as disease vectors in cattle. The study was conducted in two selected locations: Astomulyo beef cattle farm in Central Lampung and <span lang="IN">KUNAK </span>dairy farm in Bogor.&nbsp; All ectoparasites around the pens were collected using sweep nets, aspirators, light traps and forceps.&nbsp; Identification results showed a diverse range of ectoparasites, including mosquitoes (Culicidae), flies (Muscidae), ticks (Haemaphysalis), Culicoides (Ceratopogonidae) and fleas (Haematopinidae). The environment, such as <span lang="IN">pens</span> conditions, storage facilities, manure management, feed <span lang="IN">waste</span>, and sanitation, influenced the diversity of ectoparasite species found in the study sites. The identified ectoparasite species have the potential to be vectors of various livestock diseases that lead to decreased production. Konfirmasi pertama ASF tercatat di Indonesia pada akhir tahun 2019 dan kemudian meluas ke beberapa daerah termasuk Nusa Tenggara Timur (NTT). Informasi tentang virus ASF di NTT terbatas hingga saat ini. Studi ini bertujuan untuk mengidentifikasi keberadaan virus ASF pada kasus kematian massal babi di Kupang, Pulau Timor. Sampel ginjal dan limpa diambil dari delapan ekor babi yang mati mendadak di daerah Kupang. Teknik PCR konvensional dilakukan untuk mengidentifikasi daerah yang sangat terkonservasi dari genom virus ASF VP72. Hasil PCR menunjukkan bahwa semua sampel menampilkan panjang pita yang sesuai dengan pita target dari primer yang digunakan. Hasil ini menunjukkan bahwa virus ASF masih beredar di wilayah Kupang dan tetap menjadi ancaman bagi peternakan babi di daerah tersebut. Sebanyak 30 isolat <em>E. coli</em> diidentifikasi dan diuji sensitivitasnya menggunakan media <em>Muller-Hinton Agar</em> (MHA) dengan empat jenis antibiotik, yaitu tetrasiklin (30μg), penisilin (10μg), gentamisin (10μg), dan oxasilin (10μg). Kekeruhan bakteri disesuaikan dengan standar <em>McFarland</em> No. 5 (1,5 x 10⁸ CFU/ml). Cakram antibiotik diletakkan pada permukaan media MHA yang telah diinokulasi dengan bakteri dan kemudian diinkubasi pada suhu 37°C selama 24 jam. Zona hambat yang terbentuk diukur dengan jangka sorong dan hasilnya diinterpretasikan sesuai dengan pedoman CLSI (2020). Hasil uji menunjukkan bahwa <em>E. coli</em> paling sensitif terhadap gentamisin (90%), diikuti tetrasiklin (60%), penisilin (30%), dan oxasilin (20%). Uji intermediat menunjukkan hasil pada tetrasiklin dan penisilin masing-masing sebesar 10%. Resistensi tertinggi ditemukan pada oxasilin (80%) dan penisilin (60%), sedangkan gentamisin menunjukkan resistensi terendah (10%). Data diuji statistik menggunakan ANOVA yang dilanjutkan dengan uji berganda Duncan untuk menentukan perbedaan antar kelompok. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan pentingnya pemantauan penggunaan antibiotik di peternakan ayam untuk mencegah perkembangan resistensi antibiotik yang lebih luas.</p> Novianti N. Toelle, Julita D. M.
