Specifically, this article discusses the modalities of the candidate pair Yosef Lede and Aurum Titu Eki in winning the 2024 Kupang Regency election. This study aims to find out and describe in depth how modalities work and contribute to the victory of candidates. This study uses the modality theory according to Pierre Bourdieu that capital is a social relation in an exchange system that presents itself as something rare that is worth seeking in a certain social form. This study uses a qualitative approach with a descriptive-analytical approach, with data collection techniques through documentation studies and interviews. The results of this study state that of the five (5) capitals possessed by the candidate pairs, namely social, political, economic, cultural and symbolic capital, there are four (4) capitals that influence the victory of the candidate pairs in achieving victory in the Kupang Regency Election, namely social, political, cultural and symbolic capital. In social capital, both have a strong network of relationships and social interactions in shaping the image of voters. The political capital owned by the candidate pair is the support of political parties, campaign strategies and the preparation of visions and missions. Cultural capital is owned by Aurum Obe Titu Eki, who comes from the Timorese tribe and adheres to Protestant Christianity, which is the majority of voters in Kupang district, and finally is symbolic capital, namely the figure of Yosef Lede, SH as an experienced figure for three (3) periods as a legislative member, as well as the figure of Ayub Titu Eki, who is the father of Aurum Obe Titu Eki, S.Ars., M.Ars, as well as the former Regent of Kupang for two (2) p6weriods. The main focus of this research is how the Ratu-Angga pair gained public support, particularly after Ratu Wulla's controversial decision to resign from her seat in the House of Representatives (DPR RI) to run for Regent. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach, with data collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and documentation. The primary theoretical framework used is Adman Nursal’s 3P political marketing strategy, which includes Push Marketing, Pull Marketing, and Pass Marketing. The findings show that Push Marketing, through face-to-face campaigns and social activities, succeeded in building emotional ties with the community. Pull Marketing effectively utilized social media to reach younger voters. Meanwhile, Pass Marketing was carried out by involving traditional leaders, religious figures, women, and youth who hold strong influence in society. These three strategies were applied synergistically and proved effective in transforming negative public perception of Ratu Wulla resignation into significant political support. The victory of the Ratu-Angga pair, with 49.03% of the valid votes, indicates the success of an inclusive, adaptive, and locally responsive political communication strategy. This research contributes significantly to the understanding of voter behavior dynamics and campaign strategies in the context of local politics in Indonesia.
2025-12-20T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/JPT/article/view/27118 Strategi komunikasi politik Elvis Jehama dalam Memenangkan Pemilu Legislatif di Manggarai Timur Tahun 2024 2026-02-04T07:03:34+00:00 GABRIELA MBALUR gabrielambalur@gmail.com Joseph Kalembang, Joseph.kalembang@staf.undana.ac.id
This study aims to describe the political communication strategies employed by Elvis Jehama as a novice candidate in winning the 2024 East Manggarai Regency Legislative Election and to identify the factors contributing to his success. Using qualitative descriptive methods, data was obtained through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation, then analysed through data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing based on Anwar Arifin's political communication theory and Onong Uchjana Effendy's communication strategy. The results of the study show that Elvis' success was influenced by a combination of social and cultural closeness and active participation in community life. As a communicator, he appeared as a simple, religious young figure who was supported by his family, party, and traditional leaders. The political messages he conveyed highlighted local issues using regional languages, traditional symbols, and the campaign song ‘Tabe Tuang’. His media strategy emphasised interpersonal communication through social activities, home visits, and traditional meetings, complemented using social media. The communication approach was tailored to the characteristics of voters, ranging from first-time voters, women, traditional leaders, to agrarian communities. The study concluded that Elvis' victory was determined more by the effectiveness of communication based on emotional closeness and local culture than by logistical strength.
2025-12-20T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/JPT/article/view/27174 Strategi Marketing Politik Tim Relawan Dalam Pemenangan Walikota Kupang Terpilih Periode 2024-2029 2026-02-04T07:03:34+00:00 Rifda Fauziyah rifdafauziyah903@gmail.com Rudi Rohi rudi.rohi@staf.undana.ac.id Yohanes Jimmy Nami yohanes.jimmy.nami@staf.undana.ac.id Yohanes Jimmy Nami yohanes.jimmy.nami@staf.undana.ac.id
This study aims to analyze the political marketing strategies implemented by the volunteer team in securing the victory of the Mayor and Deputy Mayor candidates of Kupang for the 2024–2029 period. The theory used is David R Mayhew's approach. The method used is a descriptive qualitative approach through interviews, observation, and documentation. The results of the study show that Paulus Peos' success in retaining his legislative seat for four consecutive terms was supported by three main factors, namely name recognition (advertising), credit claiming, and position taking. Through advertising, Paulus Peos built a positive image and connection with the community; through credit claiming, Paulus Peos emphasized his contributions to various development programs; and through position taking, Paulus Peos demonstrated his commitment to the aspirations of the people. The purpose of this study was to determine the political strategy used by the candidate pair Agas Andreas and Tarsisius Sjukur in winning the 2024 simultaneous regional elections in East Manggarai Regency. This type of research is qualitative research with a descriptive research type, namely to find a description of the political strategies used by the candidate pair Agas Andreas and Tarsisius Sjukur in facing the 2024 simultaneous regional elections in East Manggarai Regency. Data collection techniques through interviews, observation and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the political strategy used by the Pair of Agas Andreas and Tiarsisius Sjukur is Offensive and Defensive Political Strategy. Where support is known that the political power of the candidate pair does not only come from the support of a coalition of large political parties and with a large number, but also comes from the candidate's personal figure, especially his status as an incumbent. This position provides its own advantages in terms of public recognition and influence on voters. In addition, the role of the success team that worked hard for the AKUR package, as well as the involvement of community leaders, such as traditional leaders and religious leaders, also provided social legitimacy and strong moral support. Cultural closeness and patronage relations also became effective political capital in maintaining the vote base and expanding influence in strategic areas. Thus, the political strategies of candidate pairs were not only built from party structures, but also strengthened by local and cultural social relations, which played an important role in carrying out offensive and defensive strategies during the campaign period.
2025-12-20T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement## https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/JPT/article/view/27245 Framing Media terhadap Netralitas ASN Dalam Pilkada: Analisis Terhadap Pemberitaan Politik 2026-02-04T07:03:35+00:00 Andi Ulfatul Zahra andi.zahra@staf.undana.ac.id Yoan Maureen Odrada yoan.odrada@staf.undana.ac.id
This study analyzes media framing of the neutrality of Civil Servants (ASN) in the 2024 Regional Elections (Pilkada) using Robert N. Entman’s framing theory. The research focuses on how the media define problems, identify causes, make moral judgments, and propose solutions related to violations of ASN neutrality. This study employs a qualitative descriptive approach, applying Entman’s framing analysis to news coverage from Kompas, CNN Indonesia, Detik, and Tribunnews. The findings indicate that national media emphasize ASN professionalism, bureaucratic integrity, and the accountability of political elites, while local media highlight social context and community harmony. The media construct public moral judgments by evaluating the actions of ASN and local officials, stressing ethical violations, and advocating for structural reforms, rule enforcement, and public education. These findings suggest that media framing not only shapes public perceptions of ASN neutrality but also functions as a mechanism of social control and political education that supports local democratic integrity. This study underscores the crucial role of media in guiding the public to understand moral norms, bureaucratic responsibilities, and healthy democratic practices.
2025-12-20T00:00:00+00:00 ##submission.copyrightStatement##
