Abstract

With the rapid development in the field of digital architecture, this research explores the role played by this technology in designing an Oceanarium in Indonesia. The uniqueness and complexity of Indonesia's marine environment requires innovative and sophisticated design approaches to create a facility that is not only aesthetically pleasing, but also sustainable and visitor experience-oriented. This research presents the implementation of digital architecture in the development of an Oceanarium as a means to integrate critical aspects such as sustainability, safety and visitor experience. This approach not only includes physical design, but also explores the utilization of digital technologies such as augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), and interactive simulations to increase public understanding and awareness of marine life. Through case studies and in-depth analysis, this research identifies challenges and opportunities in incorporating digital architecture in the design of Oceanariums in Indonesia. By involving stakeholders such as oceanographers, architects, and local communities, this research aims to produce design recommendations that can accommodate environmental, educational, and entertainment needs. The results of this research not only provide an in-depth insight into the potential role of digital architecture in the design of Oceanarium in Indonesia, but also contribute to the literature related to the development of sustainable and education-oriented tourism facilities. Therefore, this research is expected to make a positive contribution towards the development of an innovative and sustainable Oceanarium in Indonesia.
