Arsitektur Ruang Istana Alwatzikhoebillah Kesultanan Sambas Kalimantan Barat

Abstract

Alwatzikhoebillah Palace are formed of two powers government, namely government of Kesultanan Sambas and the Netherlands East Indies, they create a "unique" architectural. The influence of government and the Sultanate of Sambas Dutch government created the spatial planning in the palace gives an interesting impression. Even so, until now has not studied more in depth about these spaces. Therefore, in this study will explore some of the things, namely; (1) How does geometric space and functional space of the Alwatzikhoebillah Palace as the quality constituent architectural space?; and (2) What is the role of architecture of space of the distinctive of Alwatzikhoebillah Palace? Based on the background and problems, the research methods used for this research is exploratory qualitative method. Stages of study beginning with field observations and measurements in the form of re-drawing the palace, and interviews with key informants. Depiction of the results and interviews can be used as an analytical tool geometric space and functional space, which can then be used as a determinant of the quality of the room (sense of space) and sense of place. Based on the results, at the Palace of Alwatzikhoebillah are geometric spaces and functional spaces that have characteristics different space and there is space spatial quality (sense of space) that is strong, namely alun-alun and balairung room. Besides that, the both of it also forms chamber which has a space of historical significance ever happened. Thus alun-alun and balairung room is a space that has a sense of place.
