Abstract

The first six years of human life are crucial because it is the initial period in which individuals begin to absorb knowledge from the surrounding environment. From birth until three years old, children absorb experiences in their subconscious (absorbent mind). Then, at three to six years old, the children's ability to absorb becomes conscious and purposeful (conscious mind). The existence of a Montessori school is expected to accommodate efforts to organize character from an early age and respond to the character of children in their growing period. In designing this Montessori school facility, a behavioural architecture approach is applied from the data collection process to the design process. The facilities in this design include the design of the main building of a Montessori school (kindergarten and elementary), an auditorium to accommodate students' performing arts activities (kindergarten and elementary), an elementary park, a field for elementary students as well as sensory, natural science, and practical life training area (rice field, corn field and kale field) for kindergarten students.
