Additionally, the cat exhibited abdominal enlargement. During the physical examination, palpation of the trachea triggered a coughing reflex, and the cat appeared to be attempting to expel something from its throat. Fecal examination revealed the presence of Toxocara sp. and Ancylostoma sp. eggs. A routine hematology test showed leukocytosis, lymphocytosis, monocytosis, granulocytopenia. The cat was diagnosed with pneumonia caused by the migration of Toxocara sp. and Ancylostoma sp. larvae.Treatment was given with Pyrantel pamoate (Combantrin®) 125 mg/tab with a dose of 40 mg (1/3 tab) orally once a week for two weeks, repeating depending on the severity, Amoxyclav antibiotic 625 mg/tab with a dose of 64 mg (1/10) orally twice a day for 7 days, and fish oil (Tung-hai Fish Liver Oil®) orally one soft gel per day for 7 days. An evaluation on the seventh day showed that the cat’s condition had improved.
Dinda Meilinda Br Sitepu, Putu Ayu Sisyawati Putriningsih, Sri Kayati Widyastuti ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/jvn/article/view/23270 Mon, 18 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0000 Studi Kasus : Kejadian Penyakit Pada Farm Ayam Broiler Di Wilayah Kabupaten Cianjur https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/jvn/article/view/24143
Therefore, early identification and analysis of disease causes are
essential, particularly through preliminary examinations such as
antibody titer measurement and anatomical pathology observation. In
addition, laboratory testing for parasites, viruses, and bacteria plays
a crucial role in establishing an accurate diagnosis and supporting
effective treatment decisions. The case animal in this report is a white
broiler chicken exhibiting clinical signs of illness. The chicken was
sourced from a poultry farm located in Cianjur Regency and had
shown symptoms of disease for four consecutive days. Clinical signs
observed included lethargy, reduced appetite, weight loss, dull
plumage, swelling, and occasional abnormal respiratory sounds
(gurgling or "ngorok"). The diagnostic approach included serological
testing to assess the immune response and anatomical pathology
examination. Based on the clinical presentation, a differential
diagnosis of Newcastle Disease was considered.
Suriansyah Suriansyah, Adryani Ris, Andi Citra Septaningsih ##submission.copyrightStatement## http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/4.0 https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/jvn/article/view/24143 Sat, 02 Aug 2025 00:00:00 +0000
