Abstract

Abstract – The process of polyphonic signal analysis is the basis of the topic of signal analysis. This research also discusses the process of analyzing music signals. The musical instrument used in this study is Sasando. Sasando was chosen not only because of its uniqueness and characteristics as a traditional musical instrument but also for its purpose in the preservation process. The process of preserving the sasando musical instrument is important considering the decreasing public interest in playing this traditional musical instrument. This study uses the correlation method. This method compares two signals to find similarities between the two signals being compared. In this study, a comparison was made of polyphinic signals. The polyphonic signal in question is a chord. The similarity value between the two signals being compared can be seen from the signal characteristics of the correlation results. The characteristic referred to is the maximum amplitude value and the shape of the signal resulting from the correlation.
