Abstract

faseAbstract - This study aims to determine : (1) Average apparent power of a single phase induction motor. (2) Average active power on a single phase induction motor. (3) Average reactive power in a single phase induction motor. (4) Whether or not there is an effect of the capacitor value stage on the reactive power of a single phase induction motor. (5) The magnitude of the effect of the stages of the capacitor value on the reactive power of a single phase induction motor. The method used in this study is an experimental method (pre-experimental) with a one-shot case study model. Data collection is carried out through measurements of reactive power on single phase induction motor and documentation. Test requirements analysis using normality test and homogeneity test. Data analysis techniques using descriptive analysis and simple linear regression analysis. The results showed that (1)The apparent power value in terms of each capacitor treated in the motor gives the highest apparent power value when without a capacitor, which is 1171,8 [VA] and the lowest apparent power value is at 39 [μF] capacitor value with a value of 784,8[VA]. This means that the greater the capacitance value, the smaller the apparent power on the motor. (2) The value of the active power treated on the motor without addin a capacitor gave a value of 820,26[W] then decreased slightly and return to the value of 820,8[W] in the sixth treatment. This means that changing the value of the capacitor does not affect the value of the active power, in other words, the active power required by the motor is still fulfilled. (3) The reactive power value of each capacitor that is treated on the motor provides the highest reactive power value when the capacitor is empty which is 836,83[Var] and the lowest reactive power value is at 39 [μF] capacitor value with a value of 245,05[Var]. It means that the greater the value of the capacitance, the smaller the value of the reactive power on the motor. (4) There is a very significant effect of capacitor stages on the reactive power of single phase induction motors. (5) The magnitude of the effect of the capacitor value stage on the reactive power is 98,60%. In this case 98,60% of the reactive power value is affected by changes in the capacitance value of the capacitor, the rest is influenced by external variables.
