PENGARUH SUPLEMENTASI TEPUNG BIJI ASAM TERFERMENTASI Saccharomyces cerevisiae DALAM RANSUM BASAL INDUK TERHADAP LITTER SIZE, BERAT LAHIR DAN PERSENTASE LAHIR HIDUP ANAK BABI PERANAKAN VDL

Abstract

The study purpose was to find out the best level of fermented tamarind seeds meal supplementation in pregnant sow’s basal diet performing the highest litter size, birth weight and born life percentage of newborn cross bred VDL piglets. There were 12 pregnant sows of 1 – 2 years of age with body weight average was 153.80Kg (CV= 12.22%) were used in the study. Block design 4 X 3 were administrated in the study. The 4 following diets were R0: basal diet (pregnant sow diet 15 CPl); R1: R0 + 5% fermented tamarind seeds meal, R2: R0 + 7,5% fermented tamarind seeds meal; and R3: R0 + 10% fermented tamarind seeds meal. The variables evaluated were birth weight and born life percentage. Analysis of variance (Anova) and Duncan’s multiple range test were applied in data analysis. Statistical results showed that effect of Saccharomyces cerivisiae fermented tamarind seeds meal was highly significant (P<0.01) on born life percentage, but not significant (p>0.05) on either litter size or birth weight of the new born piglets. The conclusion drawn in that supplementation of Saccharomyces cerivisiae fermented tamarind seeds meal 5 – 10%  improved litter size, birth weight and born life percentage of the new born piglets

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendapatkan level suplementasi terbaik tepung biji asam terfermentasi Saccharomyces cerivisiae dalam ransum basal induk bunting yang menghasilkan litter size, berat lahir dan persentase lahir hidup anak babi peranakan VDL terbaik. Penelitian ini menggunakan 12 ekor ternak babi betina berumur 1-2 tahun dengan rata – rata bobot badan awal 153,80 kg (KV=12,22%). Rancangan percobaan yang digunakan adalah Rancangan Acak Kelompok (RAK) terdiri dari 4 perlakuan dan 3 ulangan. Ransum perlakuan adalah R0: pakan basal (pakan induk 15 PK, tanpa tepung biji asam) R1: pakan basal + 5% tepung biji asam fermentasi, R2: pakan basal + 7,5% tepung biji asam fermentasi. R3: pakan basal + 10% tepung biji asam fermentasi. Variabel yang diuji adalah: litter size, berat lahir dan persentase lahir hidup anak. Prosedur analisis ragam dan uji jarak berganda Duncan digunakan dalam analisis data yang diperoleh. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa perlakuan suplementasi tepung biji asam terfermentasi Saccharomyces cerivisiae dalam ransum basal berpengaruh sangat nyata (P<0,01) terhadap persentase kelahiran hidup, tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0.05) terhadap litter size dan bobot lahir anak. Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini adalah suplementasi tepung biji asam terfermentasi Saccharomyces cerevisiae 5-10% dalam ransum basal meningkatkan litter size, bobot lahir dan meningkatkan persentase lahir hidup anak.
