Abstract
Anjing merupakan hewan kesayangan yang tergolong pet animal banyak dipelihara oleh manusia. Anjing banyak memberikan manfaat pada manusia salah satunya biasa menjadi teman, penjaga rumah dan ternak, pemburu, penyelamat, dan sebagai anjing pelacak di kepolisisan.Namun hewan kesayangan juga rentan terhadap penyakit yang dapat menyerang. Penyakit tersebut dapat berupa penyakit infeksius dan non infeksius. Penyakit pada anjing biasa didapat dari faktor keturunan (herediter) maupun penyakit infeksius diperoleh dari luar, misalnya penyakit yang disebabkan oleh virus, bakteri, dan jamur. Penyakit non infeksius yang sering menyerang anjing seperti penyakit degeneratif, tumor, hernia maupun akibat traumatic. Canine distemper merupakan salah satu penyakit infeksius akibat virus yang bersifat multisitemik karena menyerang sistem pencernaan, respirasi dan sistem syaraf. Gejala klinis yang ditimbulkan bervariasi berdasarkan sistem organ target. Diagnosa berdasarkan gejala klinis dan dilakukan terapi supportif.
