Abstract

The issues of quality control in roster concrete products and methods to reduce defects in these products at UD Noelbaki Beton in Kupang District. The objective of this study is to understand and explain the quality control of roster concrete products and to identify the factors causing defects in these products. The research approach used is both quantitative and qualitative, with data collection methods that include interviews, observation, and documentation. The data analysis techniques used are qualitative and quantitative descriptive analysis. The methods of analysis applied are the Pareto and Fishbone diagrams. The Pareto diagram is utilized to examine the dominant types of damage in roster concrete products, while the Fishbone method is used to analyze factors causing defects in these products. This is followed by proposed actions to minimize product defects in roster concrete at UD Noelbaki Beton. The research results indicate that quality control at UD Noelbaki Beton is still not optimal, despite implementation at several production stages. Various weaknesses remain, such as inconsistent raw material quality, defective products, and errors frequently made by employees due to fatigue and lack of attention to detail. Additionally, inadequate maintenance of equipment and insufficient final inspection allow non-standard products to pass through the production process. Based on research conducted over one year (April 2023 - May 2024), a total of 672 defective roster concrete units were identified, comprising 500 crushed units (40%), 400 cracked units (32%), and 348 units with uneven shapes (28%). Pareto analysis reveals that the most dominant defect is crushed roster concrete. The Fishbone diagram analysis shows that the factors contributing to product defects include human factors (lack of training, attention to detail, and fatigue), inconsistent raw material quality, damaged or worn equipment, and production processes that do not meet company standards. This study provides valuable insights into factors affecting production quality and forms a basis for quality control improvement efforts at UD Noelbaki Beton
