3. Peer-Reviewed
Received papers undergo a rigorous peer review process to ensure that the published articles contain 'Good Science'. Before entering the peer review process, the manuscripts are first screened by the editor. At this stage, manuscripts may be rejected outright by the editor if they are deemed outside the scope of the journal, or if they are deemed to be of substandard scientific or stylistic quality. Successfully screened manuscripts are then sent for electronic review, and all submissions are made electronically through the system or via email. Although the peer-review process is expedited by the use of electronic communication, high-quality peer-review standards are applied to all manuscripts submitted to the journal.

Each manuscript will be reviewed by at least two independent reviewers. Jurnal Penjaskesrek: Journal of Physical Education, Health, and Sport Sciences uses a double-blind review process: authors are not informed who reviewed their paper, and peer reviewers are not informed who wrote the paper.
Peer reviewers are asked to provide their opinions on a number of issues related to the scientific and formal aspects of the paper, and to evaluate the paper on the basis of originality, the quality of the empirical work and argument, the quality of the research methodology or/and argumentation, and the quality of the written language. Furthermore, the use of non-discriminatory language is mandatory; sexist or racist terms should not be used, and any discovery of such terms may result in immediate rejection by the editor. All relevant information will be forwarded to the author.
REVIEWER RECOMMENDATIONS:
1. Peer reviewers will have the following options for each article:

2. Accept Article: The article can be published without revision.

3. Accept after revision: Acceptance is contingent on minor revisions.

4. Revise and resubmit: The manuscript requires substantial revision and further peer review.

5. Reject Article: The article falls below the standards required by the journal.

6. The final decision to accept or reject the paper and the recommendation to the authors rest with the editor responsible for the paper's evaluation.

When requesting revisions, peer reviewers have two possible goals: to ask the authors to strengthen their argument based on the available data or to identify areas where more data is needed. Formal revisions may even be necessary if the language or style is substandard. To facilitate prompt publication, authors are given a maximum of one month for revisions. After one month, the revised manuscript will be considered a new submission.

Please note that all peer review reports and related correspondence will be archived by the publisher through the publishing platform. This documentation may be made available to third parties for audit purposes.
