Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of adding purslane (Portulaca oleracea L) decoction to drinking water on the percentage increase in the weight of broiler chicken immune organs. The study used a completely randomized design with 100 broiler chickens divided into four treatments and five replicates, namely P0: no purslane decoction (control), P1 25 ml/L addition to drinking water, P2 50 ml/L, and P3 75 ml/L. The variables studied included the percentage of weight of the bursa of Fabricius, thymus, and spleen. The results showed that the addition of croton decoction up to a level of 75 ml had no significant effect (P>0.05) on the percentage of the weight of the bursa of Fabricius and spleen, but had a significant effect (P<0.05) on the percentage of the weight of the thymus. Based on these results, it can be concluded that administering 25 ml/L of krokot decoction in drinking water is the best treatment because it can increase thymus weight and maintain the weight of the bursa of Fabricius and spleen within normal ranges.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian rebusan krokot (Portulaca oleracea L) dalam air minum terhadap pertambahan persentase bobot organ imun ayam broiler. Dalam proses penelitian ini melalui penggunaan rancangan acak lengkap dan sebanyak 100 ekor ayam broiler yang didistribusikan secara acak ke dalam empat perlakuan dan lima ulangan. Perlakuan terdiri dari P0: tanpa penambahan rebusan krokot (kontrol), P1: 25 ml rebusan krokot/1 liter air minum, P2: 50 ml rebusan krokot/1 liter air minum, dan P3: 75 ml rebusan krokot/1 liter air minum. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian rebusan krokot hingga level 75 ml berpengaruh tidak nyata (P>0,05) terhadap persentase bobot bursa fabrisius dan limpa namun mempengaruhi secara nyata (P<0,05) pada persentase bobot timus. Berlandaskan perolehan penelitian, didapati simpulan bahwasanya pemberian rebusan krokot pada perlakuan P1 (25 ml) memberikan hasil terbaik karena dapat meningkatkan bobot timus serta menjaga bobot bursa fabrisius dan limpa tetap berada dalam kisaran normalPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh pemberian rebusan krokot (Portulaca oleracea L) dalam air minum terhadap pertambahan persentase bobot organ imun ayam broiler. The study employed a completely randomized design involving 100 broiler chickens, which were allocated into four treatments with five replications each. The treatments consisted of P0: without purslane decoction (control), P1: 25 ml purslane decoction per liter of drinking water, P2: 50 ml per liter, and P3: 75 ml per liter. The findings indicated that the administration of purslane decoction up to 75 ml did not significantly affect (P>0.05) the relative weight of the bursa of Fabricius and spleen, but revealed a meaningful impact (P<0.05) on the relative weight of the thymus.
