Abstract
The objective of this study was to assess the effect of adding chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) leaf decoction to drinking water on the proportion of liver, gizzard, and small intestine, and on the length of the small intestine in broiler chickens. A total of 100 CP 707 broiler chickens were used in this experiment, which employed a completely randomized design (CRD). Five treatment groups were established, each with four replicates of five birds. The treatments consisted of P0 (plain drinking water as the control), P1 (25 ml of chaya leaf decoction diluted in 975 ml of water), P2 (50 ml decoction in 950 ml of water), P3 (75 ml decoction in 925 ml of water), and P4 (100 ml decoction mixed with 900 ml of water). The parameters measured included the relative weights of liver and gizzard, the percentage and length of the small intestine. Statistical analysis revealed no significant differences (P > 0.05) among treatment groups for any of the digestive organ measurements. Furthermore, administration of chaya leaf decoction at levels up to 100 ml per liter of drinking water did not significantly affect the proportions or measurements of liver, gizzard, or small intestine in broiler chickens, although there was a non-significant tendency toward reduced small intestine length.

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji pengaruh penambahan rebusan daun chaya (Cnidoscolus aconitifolius) ke dalam air minum terhadap proporsi hati, ampela, dan usus halus, serta panjang usus halus pada ayam broiler. Sebanyak 100 ekor ayam broiler CP 707 digunakan dalam percobaan ini. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL), yang terdiri dari lima kelompok perlakuan yang berbeda, masing-masing diulang empat kali, dengan setiap ulangan melibatkan lima ekor ayam. Empat perlakuan percobaan tersebut disusun sebagai berikut: P0 = air minum biasa sebagai kelompok kontrol; P1 = 25 ml rebusan daun chaya yang diencerkan dalam 975 ml air; P2 = 50 ml rebusan dalam 950 ml air; P3 = 75 ml rebusan dalam 925 ml air; dan P4 = 100 ml rebusan daun chaya yang dicampur dengan 900 ml air. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa pemberian rebusan daun chaya melalui air minum tidak menghasilkan perbedaan yang bermakna secara statistik (P > 0,05) dalam proporsi hati, rasio ampela, persentase usus halus, maupun panjang usus halus pada ayam broiler. Kesimpulan, Pemberian rebusan daun chaya dalam air minum dengan level 25ml, 50ml, 75ml, dan 100ml cenderung menurunkan panjang usus halus, namun secara statistik tidak mempengaruhi organ pencernaan hati, ampela, bobot dan panjang usus halus ayam broiler.
