Abstract

At the Sikumana Public Health Center, maternal and infant mortality rates are still high, and the Minimum Service Standards have not been achieved optimally, which means that program management has not been fully implemented properly due to problems with funding, facilities, and suboptimal health worker performance. Health center employees, especially health workers, need to have high knowledge, skills, and motivation to support performance and achieve organizational goals. The purpose of the study was to analyze the effect of work ability and work motivation on the performance of health workers at Sikumana Public Health Center. Using the Slovin method, 89 respondents were selected from a total population of 113 Sikumana Health Center employees, with a quantitative cross-sectional technique. Documentation, interviews, and questionnaires were the data collection methods used. IBM SPSS Statistics 25.0 was used to analyze data using multiple linear regression and descriptive analysis. From the results of the multiple regression analysis, the performance of health workers at Sikumana Health Center was influenced by work ability. The t-test result for the work ability variable (X1) is 0.000 < 0.05 and tcount > ttable (6.636 > 1.98761). As a consequence, H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The work motivation variable (X2) produces a t-test result of 0.000 < 0.05 and its tcount> ttable value is 4.948 > 1.98761. This shows that work motivation has an effect on the performance of health workers at the Sikumana Health Center, H2 is accepted and H0 is rejected. The F-test result shows that the work ability and work motivation factors have a simultaneous effect on the performance of health workers at the Sikumana Health Center. H0 is rejected and H3 is accepted with an Fcount value = 98.404 > Ftable = 3.10. The adjusted R Square value obtained is 0.696. The dependent variable (performance) can be explained by the independent variable (work ability and work motivation) with a magnitude of 69.6%. This value has an estimated standard error of 2.228. The remaining figure of 30.4% can be explained by other factors not examined in this study. In order to achieve excellent performance, it is expected that workers in the health center can improve their work ability and motivation, which will be supported by infrastructure and work equipment that function well.
