THE CULTURAL CONCEPTUALIZATION OF MANGGARAI ETHNIC GROUP REGARDING ECONOMIC WELFARE IN THE FIELD OF ANIMAL HUSBANDRY

Abstract

This study describes the cultural conceptualization of Manggarai ethnic group regarding economic welfare in the field of animal husbandry, with special reference to the forms and meanings of the linguistic phenomena used in the traditional expressions of Manggarai language. This is a descriptive study. The results of the study show that the forms and meanings of the linguistic phenomena used in the traditional expressions of Manggarai language designate that, in the cultural conceptualization of Manggarai community, the indicators of economic welfare in the field of animal husbandry are marked by the availability of pigs and chickens raised.
