HUBUNGAN ANEMIA DENGAN MEMORI JANGKA PENDEK PADA SISWA SD INPRES NOELBAKI KABUPATEN KUPANG
Abstract
Anemia adalah kondisi dimana konsentrasi hemoglobin yang berfungsi sebagai transport oksigen lebih rendah daripada yang dibutuhkan tubuh. Kondisi ini mengakibatkan kadar oksigen darah ke otak yang menurun sehingga dapat mengakibatkan penurunan kemampuan kognitif dan belajar anak. Menurunnya kemampuan kognitif ini akan terlihat dari menurunnya kemampuan memori jangka pendek anak. Tujuan penelitan ini untuk mencari korelasi antara anemia dengan memori jangka pendek pada siswa SD Inpres Noelbaki Kabupaten Kupang. Metode pada penelitian ini adalah analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross sectional komparatif. Pengumpulan data anemia menggunakan pemeriksaan kadar hemoglobin menggunakan alat Easy Touch GCHb dimana hasilnya dibandingkan dengan angka standar oleh WHO. Pengumpulan data kemampuan memori jangka pendek anak menggunakan kuesioner Wechsler Intellegence Scale for Children sub-scale digit span forward and backward yang disediakan. Analisis data menggunakan uji Chi square dengan uji alternatif Fischer’s exact test. Hasil analisis bivariat yang dilakukan pada variabel menunjukkan tidak adanya hubungan yang signifikan antara anemia dan kemampuan memori jangka pendek pada siswa SD Inpres Noelbaki (p=0,770). Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna antara anemia terhadap kemampuan memori jangka pendek (p>0,05) pada siswa SD Inpres Noelbaki Kabupaten Kupang
