The Effect of Feed Type and Level of Viterna as a Feed Supplement on The Performance of Broiler Chickens

Abstract

This exploration aims to examine the effect of feed type and viterna feeding level on the performance of broiler chickens. The method used was an exploratory experimental method with a completely randomized design with a 2x4 factorial pattern. The first factor, type of feed, includes 2 types of feed (p1 = CP11 and p2 = BR1) and the second factor is viterna (V) which consists of 4 levels (v0 = 0 cc; v1 = 1.5 cc; v2 = 3 cc; v3 = 4 .5 cc/liter of drinking water). Each treatment combination was repeated four times and each experimental unit consisted of 4 chickens. Parameters observed include drinking water consumption, feed consumption, PBB and FCR. The results of the ANOVA analysis showed that there was no interaction (P>0.05) between feed type (P) and viterna level (V) on all research variables. The conclusion from the results of this study is that the type of feed and viterna level up to a dose of 4.5 cc have not been able to improve the performance of broiler chickens in terms of feed consumption, drinking water consumption, PBB and FCR.

ABSTRAK

Penelitian  ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji pengaruh jenis pakan dan level pemberian viterna terhadap performa ayam broiler. Metode digunakan adalah   metode eksperimen dengan rancangan acak lengkap pola faktorial 2x4. Faktor pertama jenis pakan meliputi 2 jenis pakan (p1 = CP11 dan p2 = BR1) dan faktor kedua viterna (V) yang terdiri dari 4 level (v0 = 0 cc; v1 = 1,5 cc; v2 = 3 cc; v3 = 4,5 cc/liter air minum). Masing-masing kombinasi perlakuan diulangi empat kali dan setiap unit percobaan terdiri dari 4 ekor ayam. Parameter diamati meliputi konsumsi air minum, konsumsi pakan, pertambahan bobot badab dan konversi ransum. Hasil analisis anova  terlihat tidak adanya interaksi (P>0,05) antara jenis pakan (P) dan level viterna (V) terhadap semua variabel penelitian. Kesimpulan dari hasil penelitian ini  bahwa faktor jenis pakan dan level viterna hingga dosis 4,5 cc belum dapat memperbaiki performa ayam broiler ditinjau dari konsumsi pakan, konsumsi air minum, PBB dan FCR
