Journal of Transformative Politics (JPT) is a thought movement from the epistemic community of the Department of Political Science, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Nusa Cendana University, in order to promote academic works with high-quality standards, especially on issues of politics, democracy, and social change. In the academic realm, the publication of this journal departs from the awareness that universities are not just educational institutions, but also scientific institutions that are obliged to produce alternative ideas that can encourage transformation and social change in society. In the realm of practice, the publication of this journal is expected to bridge the need for transformative political science, namely, to encourage an action agenda towards a more democratic society.

The main issues discussed in this journal are (1) Electoral Integrity, (2) Border Governance, (3) Natural Resource Governance, (4) Gender Mainstreaming, and (5) Suburban and Rural Areas. These five clusters of issues are framed in one idea that we call transformative politics, which means that the knowledge produced not only has scientific truth value but also supports concrete social change.
