Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to Jurnal Pluralis will undergo an initial screening by the Editorial Board to ensure they meet the guidelines, focus, and scope. Manuscripts will be reviewed using a double-blind peer review process, meaning the identities of reviewers and authors will be kept confidential throughout the review process.

Desk Review. During the desk review stage, manuscripts will be checked to ensure they meet the guidelines, focus, and scope. If they do not meet the requirements, authors will be given the opportunity to revise their manuscripts according to the given criteria. However, there is also a possibility that the manuscript will be rejected outright.

Peer Review. After the manuscript passes the desk review stage, it will be submitted to two reviewers who are experts in the submitted manuscript's field. The review process will be completed within three weeks. Manuscripts that do not pass the desk review will not proceed to this stage.

Reviewer Decision. The reviewers will provide the following recommendations:

Accepted; means the manuscript is suitable for publication.

Accepted with minor revisions; This means the manuscript is suitable for publication after being revised in accordance with the reviewers' complaints.

Accepted with major revisions means that substantive deficiencies in the manuscript, such as data analysis, the main theory used, and paragraph rewording, require revision.

Rejected means that the manuscript is not suitable for publication or the review relates to very fundamental issues.
The reviewers' decision will be considered by the Editorial Board to determine the next step.

Revision Stage. After the manuscript is accepted with minor or major revisions, it will be returned to the author along with a review summary form. For manuscripts accepted with major revisions, the author will be given four weeks to revise. For manuscripts accepted with minor revisions, two weeks are given for revision. When returning the revised manuscript, the author is required to complete and attach the review summary form.

Final Decision. At this stage, the manuscript will be re-evaluated by the Editorial Board to ensure that the author has made revisions in accordance with the reviewers' complaints. In this final decision, the manuscript may still be rejected if the author has not made the necessary revisions diligently.

Editing. After the manuscript is deemed suitable by the Editorial Board, it will undergo an editing process to maintain the quality of the language.

Confirmation of publication. At this stage, the final layout of the manuscript will be sent back to the author to ensure that the content aligns with the author's original writing. At this stage, the author can revise any typographical errors found in the final manuscript. After confirmation from the author, the Editorial Secretary will process the manuscript for online publication on the website or in print.

Published articles will appear in the latest issue of Jurnal Pluralis. The order of articles in each issue depends on the editorial team's decision. Until an issue is published, the composition of the articles may still change. Therefore, some accepted articles will be published directly in the next issue, while others will be retained for future issues.
