PENERAPAN METODE SURVEY, QUESTION,READ,RECITE,AND REVIEW (SQ3R) DALAM MENINGKATKAN KEMAMPUAN MEMBACA PEMAHAMAN SISWA KELAS VI SD INPRES OEPURA, 2 KOTA KUPANG
Abstract
The thesis written by Afriyati Abdullah with NIM 2101140037 entitled “Application of the Survey, Question, Read, Recite, and Review (SQ3R) Method in Improving the Reading Comprehension Ability of Grade VI Students of SD Inpres Oepura 2 Kota Kupang City.” This study aims to find out whether the SQ3R method can improve the reading comprehension ability of grade VI students at SD Inpres Oepura 2 Kupang City. The focus of this research is to evaluate students’ reading comprehension through the application of the SQ3R method. The type of research used is class action research (PTK), which is carried out in several stages, namely planning, implentation, observation, tests, and reflection. The research subjects consisted of 20 grade VI students, with data obtained through observation, tests, and interviews, then analyzed quantitatively. The results of the study showed that students’ understanding of the reading of “The Legend of the Komodo Princess” in the first cycle only reached a completeness level of 29% (5 students), while 71% (12 students) have not reached the minimum completeness criteria. However, after learning improvements were made in the second cycle, there was a significant increase with the average student score increasing from60,58 to 88,82. From the formulation of the problem in this study,it can be concluded that the application of the SQ3R method has proven to be effective in improving the reading comprehension ability of grade VI students of SD Inpres Oepura 2 Kupang City, as seen from the imrovement of learning outcomes between cycles I and II.
