Abstract

This research was conducted by Setriana Lada (NIM 2001140147) with the title "The Application of the Scramble Method to
Improve Reading Comprehension Skills of Third Grade Students at SD GMIT No. 07 Oebufu, Kupang City." The aim of this
study was to determine whether the scramble method can improve students’ reading comprehension skills. This was a Classroom
Action Research (CAR) conducted in two cycles, including planning, implementation, observation, and reflection. The research
subjects were 25 third-grade students, consisting of 10 boys and 15 girls. Data collection techniques included observation, tests,
and documentation, using observation guidelines and reading comprehension tests as instruments.
The results showed a significant improvement in students’ reading comprehension skills after the implementation of the scramble
method. In Cycle I, initial test results showed improvement, and in Cycle II, the average scores increased further, with classical
completeness reaching 88% (22 students achieving mastery). The improvement was evident in students’ ability to construct
sentences, pronunciation, readingfluency, clarity, andintonation. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the scramble
method is effective in enhancing the reading comprehension skills of third-grade students at SD GMIT No. 07 Oebufu, Kupang
City.
