MENCARI TERJEMAHAN PAS UNTUK PROGRAM MERDEKA BELAJAR (FINDING PROPER STRATEGIES TO IMPLEMENT INDEPENDENT LEARNING PROGRAM)
Abstract
This article is related to“Indpendent Learning Program” proposed by the Minister of Education and Cuture of Indonesia. The
writers believe that the program is excellent. Yet, it is problematic because teachers do not know how to implement it. We,
therefore, propose some strategiesto help teachers soundly execute it. They are based on educational theories by such theorists
asHeidegger (1968), Rogers (1983), Neville (1989), and Tans (2014), namely: 1) teachers have to understand their students’
talents, interests, and learning needs (BMKB); 2) schools be categorised based on their students’ BMKB; 3)school curriculum
should be designed by schools; 4) teaching and learning schedule should be flexibly constructed so that each and every student has
the opportinity to master any subjects/topics they are learning; and, 5) self-evaluation is implemented in such a way that students
decide whether they master or fail any subjects/topics they have learned. In such a context, teaching and learning be understood
in such a way that at the end they result in a passion for learning for teachers and students themselves.
