Main Article Content
Abstract
This study evaluates the role of artificial lighting in creating a relaxing atmosphere in the therapy rooms of Zen Family Spa. As a crucial element of interior design, lighting significantly influences spatial ambiance through pragmatic, psychological, and symbolic aspects. An appropriate atmosphere enhances visitor comfort and supports an optimal therapy experience. The research employs a descriptive qualitative method, incorporating observations, in-depth interviews, and light intensity measurements using a lux meter. The analysis focuses on lighting elements, including lamp types, color temperature, light distribution, and illumination intensity. The recommended comfort level for relaxation spaces ranges between 150–300 lux.The findings suggest using warm color temperature lighting (2700K–3000K), indirect lighting for a softer effect, and dimmers to adjust brightness as needed. This approach aims to create a more effective calming effect, support physical and mental well-being, and enhance the overall quality of spa services.
This study offers practical contributions to spa managers and interior designers in designing more comfortable and functional therapy spaces. Proper lighting not only fosters relaxation but also enriches visitors' sensory experiences. Thus, this research highlights the importance of lighting design in creating a harmonious therapeutic environment that prioritizes user well-being.
