Abstract

Well-designed public open space can encourage a variety of activities and has the potential to improve the quality of life and public health. Public open space is said to be of good quality if it can create a variety of activities; one of the indicators that can create activities is the availability of facilities or attributes. Therefore, this study focuses on the quality and condition of the facilities in Taman Nostalgia in creating various activities to utilize leisure time to reduce stress in the urban environment. The research method was a descriptive qualitative based on field surveys and a literature review of the attribute variables of public open space. The research stage began with identifying the condition of the facility, then it was concluded based on the variable features of public open space. The results of the study indicate that although some of the available facilities have met the variable features of public open space, it is still necessary to improve the condition of the facilities and develop designs that can create a variety of activities. Thus, the activities carried out in the Taman Nostalgia are varied and can also be carried out for a long time and used by the whole community regardless of age, physical and social level.
