Studi Konfigurasi Ruang Perumahan di Kota Kupang (Studi Kasus: Perumahan Graha Sentosa dan Perumahan Palma Residence)

Abstract

The provision of housing is one of the government's priority programs that contribute to development in Kupang City, East Nusa Tenggara. Housings in Kupang City is generally a cluster type with various spatial configurations. This diversity of residential space configurations is interesting to study, especially to understand the considerations behind it. This research was conducted in two residential areas in Kupang City, there are Graha Sentosa and Palma Residence. This study applies a non-statistical quantitative research method through graph analysis, which begins with a literature study and field observations on the research object. The object is then tested using the spatial syntax technique to get the space configuration value. Thus, the physical element considerations behind it can be analyzed. The results showed that the configuration of the housing space was based on various physical considerations related to the efficiency of land division of housing blocks and the effectiveness of road arrangement in residential areas. The application of these various physical considerations in the design of residential spaces can optimize space configurations and provide optimal space comfort for residents.
