BENTUK, FUNGSI, DAN MAKNA FRASA IDIOMATIK DALAM TUTURAN RITUAL BUDAYA MANGGARAI TIMUR
Abstract
The research entitled Form, Function, and Meaning of Idiomatic Phrases in East Manggarai Cultural ceremony Speeches, was prepared to answer the problem of what are the forms, functions, and meanings of idiomatic phrases in East Manggarai cultural ritual speeches. The benefits obtained from this research are in the form of theoretical benefits and practical benefits. Theoretically, the results of this research can expand the proof of linguistic theory so that the linguistic theory that is currently developing can be enriched through the results of this research. Practically, the results of this study are useful for researchers themselves, students who want to conduct research in the future, for researchers in general, especially researchers engaged in linguistics. The theory used in this research is cultural linguistic theory. The research method used is a qualitative research method with the data collection method being the listening method with the data collection technique, the free-to-talk-free listening technique. While the method of presenting data analysis is an informal method with the presentation technique is a gloss or translation technique. From the results of the research conducted, the researchers found that the form of idiomatic phrases are found in the opening, content, and closing parts of the East Manggarai cultural ritual speech. The functions of idiomatic phrases in the ceremony speech of the East Manggarai culture are unity, religion, destruction, togetherness, strength, death, honor, protection, and love. Meanwhile, the meanings of idiomatic phrases in the ritual speech of the East Manggarai culture are unity, religion, destruction, togetherness, strength, death, honor, protection, and love.
