Abstract

This paper aims to analyze Margaret Djokaho's Monologue Dance from an aesthetic-moral perspective. The body of women
who experienced a shift in meaning due to the power of the Indonesian arts industry was raised as the theme of the dance work.
He deconstructed the reality of the domination of the woman's body to bring out the essential existence of the body. This dance
work was created and inspired based on the philosophy of the human body according to the Sabu ethnic group of East Nusa
Tenggara Province. This dance work is a search for the meaning of the body, that the body is not just a medium of expression. It
contains value, because it is breathed by Deo Ama, the body must present the world to social life, because the body is part of
another and in it the moral spirit resides. This dance work is a form of resistance to the exploitation of the human body from the
interests of the capitalistic entertainment arts industry. Along with that, this dance work is a deep criticism of the women
themselves. This research uses qualitative research with a phenomenological approach. The main orientation in this research is the
body as a text to reveal the aesthetic-moral meaning of Margaret Djokaho's dance work. The theory used to examine the research
problem is the deconstruction theory by Jacques Derrida.
