Abstract

This study aims to improve student learning outcomes by using the SAVI method in learning speech in speech material. The
theory used in this research is to improve student learning outcomes in Indonesian language learning on speech topics by using the
SAVI (somatic auditory visualization and intellectually) learning method. The research method used in this research is Classroom
Action Research (CAR), with four stages in each cycle. The results showed that learning speech material is very suitable for using
the SAVI method because by using the SAVI method, students will very easily produce a product, namely speech very well. Why
is that? Because by using the SAVI method, the learning material can be directly watched by students so that all the five senses of
students will be actively involved starting from seeing and hearing positive thoughts that form opinions and are ready to be
assembled into an appropriate speech. Thus, a conclusion can be drawn that the SAVI method is a very appropriate method to use
in learning speech material for students of class XI MIA 1 SMA Efata Soe.
