Manuscript Types
Jurnal Communio considers original research articles that offer a substantive contribution to scholarship in Communication Science. The journal accommodates diverse traditions of scholarly inquiry, recognising that advances in communication research may emerge from theoretical, empirical, and applied investigations.
Original Research Articles
Original Research Articles present previously unpublished research that contributes new knowledge, advances theoretical understanding, or offers original insights into communication phenomena.
The journal welcomes research employing qualitative, quantitative, mixed-methods, and other established approaches appropriate to the questions under investigation. Contributions may be grounded in empirical data, systematic theoretical inquiry, or the critical examination of relevant documentary and textual sources.
Irrespective of methodological orientation, manuscripts must demonstrate a clearly defined research problem, a coherent analytical approach, and findings or arguments supported by a transparent and defensible process of scholarly investigation.
Particular consideration is given to research that engages critically with existing scholarship, develops meaningful interpretations, and demonstrates the significance of its contribution beyond the immediate context of the study.
Consideration of Manuscripts
All submissions must fall within the disciplinary remit of Jurnal Communio as established in its Focus and Scope. Manuscripts must also comply with the preparation and submission requirements prescribed in the Author Guidelines.
The designation of a manuscript as original research is determined by the nature of its scholarly contribution and the rigour of the investigation, rather than by the exclusive use of a particular research method or source of evidence.
Submissions that do not clearly correspond to the manuscript category described above may be referred to the editorial office for clarification regarding their suitability before submission.
The editorial team assesses the appropriateness of each manuscript in accordance with the journal's established editorial policies.
