Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Author Guidelines

In English

All submitted papers must be written in good Indonesian or English. Papers or articles to be published are carefully considered and adjusted to the template before submission. The paper has not been previously published or is under consideration for publication elsewhere. The official language of the manuscript to be published in the Jurnal Beta Kimia is Indonesian with an abstract in Indonesian and English.

All manuscripts must be submitted to JBK Editorial using Online Submission at the web address: https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/jbk/about/submissions, where the Author registers online. 3. Manuscript Review Process

Each submitted paper is reviewed independently by at least two peer reviewers. Decisions for publication, amendment, or rejection are based on reports/recommendations from reviewers and made by the Editor. If two or more reviewers deem the manuscript unfit for publication in this journal, a statement explaining the basis for the decision will be sent to the author within three months of the submission date.

4. Manuscript Improvement Process

Manuscripts sent back to the author for revision must be returned to the editor as soon as possible. Corrected manuscripts can be sent to the editorial team via Online Submission: https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/jbk/login. Manuscripts that have been corrected but are returned more than three months will be considered new submissions.

6. Online Delivery Guide

Authors must first register via the following address: https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/jbk/user/register. Authors must fill out the form as completely as possible where forms marked with an asterisk must be filled in. After all form text boxes are filled in, the author clicks the “Register” button to continue the registration process. Therefore, the Author is directed to the online author submission interface where the Author must click on “New Submission”. In the “Start a New Submission” section, click “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. The following are the five steps in the online delivery process:

Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Select the appropriate journal section. Thus, authors must tick the "submission checklists". Authors are advised to write a Cover Letter in "Letter to Editor".
Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: To upload a manuscript in this journal, click "Browse" in the "Upload submission file item" section and select the manuscript document file (.doc/.docx) that will be sent, then click the "Upload" button until the file has been uploaded. Do not upload cover letters and other additional files here.
Step 3 – Entering Submission's Metadata: In this step, the metadata details of all authors must be completed. After that, the manuscript title, abstract and keywords must be filled in.
Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: Supplementary files must be uploaded including the signed Copyright Transfer Agreement Form. Therefore, click the "Browse" button, select the file and then click the "Upload" button.
Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  Authors must check the manuscript documents that have been uploaded in this step. To send a manuscript to the Jurnal Beta Kimia (JBK), click the "Finish Submission" button after being sure that the uploaded manuscript is correct. Authors will receive notification via email and will be able to view the submission's progress through the editorial process by logging into the journal's website address.
After submission, the author will receive a confirmation email. Therefore, Authors can track their submission status anytime online. Submission tracking includes manuscript review status and editorial process.

All published articles will be immediately readable and free to download by everyone. We continue to communicate with our author community to choose the best licensing option, currently the license applied to this journal is: Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International (CC BY-NC 4.0).

9. Manuscript Preparation Guide

The paper will be published in the Jurnal Beta Kimia after going through a peer-reviewed process and being decided "Accepted" by the Editor. The final layout of the paper will be created by the JBK Editorial Team. Manuscripts that have been reviewed will first be published in "Article In Press".

Submitted articles must have the following components:

Title: The Title of the Jurnal Beta Kimia Article Written Here Briefly, Clearly and Informatively (Californian FB Font, Size 15, Bold, Capitalize Each Word, Space 1, center, maximum 20 words).

Author name: First author1,*(superscript), Second author2, Third author3, etc. [Californian FB 12 pt, No title], 1First author's affiliation, First author's affiliate address: street name, city/county, province, country, 2Author's affiliation second, Second author's affiliate address: street name, city/district, province, country, *correspondence e-mail: corresponding author's email [Californian FB 11 pt, 1 space, Italic].

Abstract: The minimum abstract contains objectives, research methods, research results, conclusions and recommendations. The text is written with a font size of 10 pt and the font type Californian FB and the distance between lines is one space. If the article is in Indonesian, the abstract must be written in good and correct Indonesian and English. If the article is in English, the abstract must be written in English only. The abstract for each language is written in just one paragraph in one column format. Word count 150-200 [Californian FB 10 pt, 1 space].

Keywords: Maximum 4 words, separated using semicolons (;), font Californian FB, 10, Italic

Introduction [Californian FB, 12, Bold]

The introduction includes background, the importance of research/study, the contribution of research in the development of science. There are no subtitles in this section. The introduction must contain (in sequence) the general background, a review of previous literature (state of the art) as the basis for a statement of the scientific novelty of the article, a statement of scientific novelty, and the research problem or hypothesis. At the end of the introduction, the purpose of the article study must be written. In the scientific article format, a literature review is not permitted as in a research report but is carried out in the form of a review of previous literature (state of the art) to show the scientific novelty of the article (Californian FB, 12 pt).

Methodology: [Californian FB, 12, Bold]

The research method contains the design of research activities, scope or object, main materials and tools, location, data collection techniques, data analysis techniques, operational definitions of research variables. To write mathematical equations, you can use Microsoft Equation 3.0 or Mathtype, or similar as in Eq. (1). When mentioning equation numbers in the text, avoid using the words: "equation above" and similar but use the name/equation number such as: ... as written in the press. (1). If using Microsoft Equation 3.0. then the equation template created uses a table consisting of 1 row and 2 columns as below, so to add the next equation, copy one of the tables and place it in the desired place (Californian FB, 12 pt).

Results and Discussion:  [Californian FB, 12 pt, Bold]

Results are presented in full. Results can be supplemented with tables, figures, and/or graphs. Tables and figures are numbered and titled. The results of the data analysis are explained precisely in the article. The discussion section explains the results linked to relevant sources (Californian FB, 12 pt).

Conclusion and Recommendations: [Californian FB, 12 pt, Bold]

Contains conclusions and several recommendations, not recommended in pointer form, but in the form of paragraphs structured according to the sequence of issues discussed in the article. Conclusions describe the answer to the hypothesis and/or research objectives or scientific findings obtained. The conclusion does not contain a repetition of the results and discussion, but rather a summary of the findings as expected in the objective or hypothesis. If necessary, at the end of the conclusion you can also write down things that will be done related to further ideas from the research (Californian FB, 12 pt).

In Indonesian

Semua makalah yang diserahkan harus ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia atau Inggris yang baik. Makalah atau artikel yang akan dipublikasikan diperhatikan secara seksama dan disesuikan dengan template sebelum diserahkan. Makalah belum pernah diterbitkan atau sedang dalam pertimbangan untuk publikasi di tempat lain. Bahasa resmi naskah yang akan diterbitkan dalam jurnal Jurnal Beta Kimia adalah bahasa Indonesia dengan abstrak bahasa Indonesia dan Inggris.

3. Proses Review Naskah

Setiap makalah yang dikirimkan di-review secara independen oleh setidaknya dua orang peer reviewer. Keputusan untuk publikasi, amandemen, atau penolakan didasarkan pada laporan/rekomendasi dari reviewer dan dibuat oleh Editor. Jika dua atau lebih reviewer menganggap naskah tidak layak untuk dipublikasikan di jurnal ini, pernyataan yang menjelaskan dasar keputusan akan dikirimkan kepada penulis dalam waktu tiga bulan sejak tanggal pengiriman.

4. Proses Perbaikan Naskah

Naskah yang dikirim kembali ke penulis untuk revisi harus dikembalikan ke editor secepatnya. Naskah yang telah diperbaiki dapat dikirim ke pihak editorial melalui Pengajuan Online: https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/jbk/login. Naskah yang sudah diperbaiki namun dikembalikan lebih dari tiga bulan akan dianggap sebagai kiriman baru.

6. Panduan Pengiriman Online

Penulis pertama-tama harus mendaftar melalui alamat berikut: https://ejurnal.undana.ac.id/index.php/jbk/user/register. Penulis harus mengisi formulir selengkap mungkin di mana formulir bertanda bintang harus diisi. Setelah semua kotak teks formulir diisi, Penulis mengklik tombol “Register” untuk melanjutkan proses pendaftaran. Oleh karena itu, Penulis diarahkan ke interface online author submission di mana Penulis harus mengklik “New Submission”. Di bagian "Start a New Submission", klik “’Click Here’: to go to step one of the five-step submission process”. Berikut ini adalah lima langkah dalam proses pengiriman online:

  1. Step 1 - Starting the Submission: Pilih bagian jurnal yang sesuai. Dengan demikian, penulis harus mencentang pada "submission checklists". Penulis disarankan untuk menuliskan Surat Pengantar di "Letter to Editor".
  2. Step 2 – Uploading the Submission: Untuk mengunggah naskah di jurnal ini, klik "Browse" pada bagian "Upload submission file item" dan pilih file dokumen naskah (.doc/.docx) yang akan dikirim, lalu klik tombol "Upload" sampai file telah diunggah. Jangan mengunggah surat pengantar dan file tambahan lainnya di sini.
  3. Step 3 – Entering Submission’s Metadata: Pada langkah ini, detail metadata semua penulis harus dilengkapi. Setelah itu, judul naskah, abstrak serta kata kunci harus diisi.
  4. Step 4 – Uploading Supplementary Files: File pelengkap harus diunggah termasuk Formulir Perjanjian Transfer Hak Cipta yang sudah ditandatangani. Karena itu, klik tombol "Browse", pilih file lalu klik tombol "Upload".
  5. Step 5 – Confirming the Submission:  Penulis harus memeriksa dokumen naskah yang telah diunggah pada langkah ini. Untuk mengirimkan naskah ke jurnal beta kimia (JBK), klik tombol "Finish Submission" setelah yakin naskah yang diunggah sudah benar. Penulis akan menerima pemberitahuan melalui email dan akan dapat melihat kemajuan pengiriman melalui proses editorial dengan masuk ke situs alamat web jurnal. 

Setelah pengiriman, Penulis akan mendapatkan email konfirmasi. Oleh karena itu, Penulis dapat melacak status pengiriman mereka kapan saja secara online. Pelacakan pengiriman meliputi status review naskah dan proses editorial.

 9. Panduan Penyusunan Naskah

Makalah akan dipublikasikan di jurnal beta kimia setelah melalui proses peer-reviewed dan diputuskan “Accepted/Diterima” oleh Editor. Layout final dari makalah akan dibuat oleh Tim Editorial JBK. Naskah yang sudah diperiksa pertama-tama akan dipublikasikan dalam “Article In Press”.

Artikel yang dikirim harus memiliki komponen-komponen berikut:

Judul: Judul Artikel Jurnal βeta Kimia Ditulis di Sini Secara Singkat, Jelas, dan Informatif (Font Californian FB, Size 15, Bold, Capitalize Each Word, Spasi 1, center, maksimal 20 kata).

Abstrak: Abstrak minimal berisi tujuan, metode penelitian, hasil penelitian, kesimpulan, dan rekomendasi. Teks ditulis dengan ukuran font 10 pt dan jenis huruf Californian FB serta jarak antar baris satu spasi. Jika artikel berbahasa Indonesia, maka abstrak harus ditulis dalam bahasa Indonesia dan bahasa Inggris yang baik dan benar. Jika artikel berbahasa Inggris, maka abstrak harus ditulis dalam bahasa Inggris saja. Abstrak untuk masing-masing bahasa dituliskan dalam satu paragraf saja dengan format satu kolom. Jumlah kata 150-200 [Californian FB 10 pt, spasi 1].

Pendahuluan [Californian FB, 12, Bold]

Pendahuluan mencakup latar belakang, pentingnya penelitian/kajian, kontribusi penelitian dalam pengembangan ilmu. Tidak ada sub judul pada bagian ini. Pendahuluan harus berisi (secara berurutan) latar belakang umum, kajian literatur terdahulu (state of the art) sebagai dasar pernyataan kebaruan ilmiah dari artikel, pernyataan kebaruan ilmiah, dan permasalahan penelitian atau hipotesis. Di bagian akhir pendahuluan harus dituliskan tujuan kajian artikel tersebut. Di dalam format artikel ilmiah tidak diperkenankan adanya tinjauan pustaka sebagaimana di laporan penelitian, tetapi diwujudkan dalam bentuk kajian literatur terdahulu (state of the art) untuk menunjukkan kebaruan ilmiah artikel tersebut (Californian FB, 12 pt).

Metodologi: [Californian FB, 12, Bold]

Metode penelitian berisi tentang rancangan kegiatan penelitian, ruang lingkup atau objek, bahan dan alat utama, lokasi, teknik pengambilan data, teknik analisis data, definisi operasional variabel penelitian. Untuk menuliskan persamaan matematika dapat dilakukan dengan menggunakan microsoft equation 3.0 atau Mathtype, atau sejenisnya seperti pada Pers. (1). Pada penyebutan nomor persamaan dalam teks hindari penggunaan kata: “persamaan di atas” dan sejenisnya namun gunakan nama/nomor persamaan seperti: … seperti dituliskan pada pers. (1). Jika menggunakan Microsoft Equation 3.0. maka template persamaan yang dibuat menggunakan tabel yang terdiri 1 baris dan 2 kolom seperti di bawah, sehingga untuk menambahkan persamaan berikutnya maka salinlah satu tabel tersebut dan tempatkan pada tempat yang dikehendaki (Californian FB, 12 pt).

Hasil dipaparkan secara lengkap. Hasil bisa dilengkapi dengan tabel, gambar, dan/atau grafik. Tabel dan gambar diberi nomor dan judul. Hasil analisis data dijelaskan secara tepat di dalam artikel. Bagian pembahasan menjelaskan hasil yang dikaitkan dengan sumber yang relevan (Californian FB, 12 pt).

Kesimpulan dan Saran: [Californian FB, 12 pt, Bold]

Berisi kesimpulan dan beberapa rekomendasi, tidak disarankan dalam bentuk pointer, tetapi dalam bentuk paragraf yang tersusun terstruktur sesuai dengan urutan masalah yang dibahas dalam artikel.  Kesimpulan menggambarkan jawaban dari hipotesis dan/atau tujuan penelitian atau temuan ilmiah yang diperoleh. Kesimpulan bukan berisi perulangan dari hasil dan pembahasan, tetapi lebih kepada ringkasan hasil temuan seperti yang diharapkan di tujuan atau hipotesis. Bila perlu, di bagian akhir kesimpulan dapat juga dituliskan hal-hal yang akan dilakukan terkait dengan gagasan selanjutnya dari penelitian tersebut (Californian FB, 12 pt).
